The Green Adelaide Board is an independent and strategic leadership team for Green Adelaide – an urban government environmental organisation – led by Professor Chris Daniels to deliver environmental outcomes amidst urbanisation.
The board oversees Green Adelaide’s work to deliver and facilitate environmental activities through partnerships, investment, awareness, education and on-ground iconic projects.
Professor Daniels said that he encourages experienced and emerging, respected, and passionate leaders with diverse skills and knowledge to apply and be part of the change to create a cooler, greener and wilder city.
“Green Adelaide has been around for nearly 4 years, and we want knowledgeable, committed and fresh voices around the table to drive successful environmental outcomes for the people of metropolitan South Australia”, Professor Daniels said.
“We want diverse voices too – with expertise across not just land and environmental management, but also Aboriginal engagement, governance, community engagement and communication, as well as business, planning, finance and risk management.
“Being on the board is a fantastic opportunity to be part of creating a more liveable city.
“Over the past few years, we’ve launched iconic projects such as progressing our ambition of reintroducing platypus to the River Torrens / Karrawirra Pari, continuing the restoration of this urban river, finalising and starting implementation of Adelaide’s first metropolitan-wide Urban Greening Strategy on behalf of State Government, and constantly enabling on-ground action by councils and the community through our grant programs.”
“As a board member you’ll be involved in bringing the community, industry and government into the heart of decision making on environmental management.”
